Cut-throat Lane, Isleworth
8th January 1837

Posted in > >

Spring Heeled Jack was reported here in 1837 - attacking a carpenter named Jones in a path that ran alongside Isleworth Cemetery (known then as Cut-throat Lane, but since either lost or renamed).

Jones reported fighting a figure he described as wearing white 'armour' and, weirder still, 'red shoes.' According to his report, when he fought back, the figure was joined by two further 'ghosts'. His attackers badly beat him, tearing his clothes - which had to be thrown away.
