Seers, Prophets and Visionaries

IntroductionThe British Isles are famed for picturesque vistas. Generations of pilgrims have sought out the best views of gently undulating downs or purple-shrouded mountain tops, singing their praises in verse or paint.
But others have had larger vistas to focus on. Not content with their earthly bounds, they have sought to see further than mere eyesight would permit. They have communed with the dead, seen the future... even spoken to God himself.
Mad? Perhaps. But unshaken in their convictions they have persisted in their beliefs in the face of ridicule and torment and their words are still revered by the faithful to this day.
